I'm Pepa "Pepper" Solana, born and raised in Madrid (Spain) in 1993.
My father nurtured my love for music and inspired me to be great. He used to play guitar and sing for me when I was a young sponge. He liked to sit on the bed next to me, singing and playing until I fell asleep ... In my dreams, those melodies became my passion.
Many are thus the most inspiring and influential artists who shaped my style: Ella Fitzgerald, Marlena Shaw, Black Crowes, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Lisa Fisher, Chaka Khan, Etta James, Yebba, Lizzo ...
At the age of 14, I started touring and making a living as a singer. I toured Spanish speaking countries with my bands and other great artists, where I gained experience. In 2018 I traveled to NYC to take a music course at the New York Jazz Academy ... And I knew I belonged there.
Since then, I pursue my dream here, working with an arsenal of hot producers and composers like Has-San Smith, Balewa Muhammad, Teddy Riley or Cannon Mapp, Chaz Lamar Shepherd and Jorge Perez of Patax Band. I have performed live with Teddy Riley (At his Hollywood Star Commemoration), Tini Stoessel or Nile Rodgers.
After a few years of working as a waitress, singing at venues and private events and on the streets of New York, performing in off Broadway shows and fighting with unscrupulous companies and a cruel industry ... I met my wonderful manager Royal Bayyan -from Kool & The Gang-, honest and passionate about my musical talent from the beginning, who helped me get into show business in the Big City.
Finally, I am working on my first LP and preparing for a world tour.
I live in Manhattan with my three cats. And I am 100% vegan.
